Description
This study focuses on the ethnic status, economy, and cultural heritage of the Khalkha, the largest ethnic group in Mongolia. It is based on field research conducted by the Institute of History of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences between 1960 and 1970 and 1981 and 1990. The work addresses various aspects of the Khalkh people's intangible cultural heritage, including handicrafts, food culture, animal husbandry, knowledge of the natural world, festivals, folk customs, and rituals.
