Description
Prior to the full industrialization of leather production in Tajikistan, the range of leather products was extremely high. From a variety of clothing and footwear, hats and gloves for men and women, children, and ceremonies, depending on the season and region, to the saddle of horses and other types of riding and working animals, saddlebags, backpacks, suitcases of different sizes and shapes, book covers, bags, armor, hats, caps, leather boxes, and other leather goods and accessories.
Shoemakers, in particular, made extensive use of leather. Therefore, in many areas they were even called leather-seamstresses and shoe-sellers. In the past centuries, among all the inhabitants of Central Asia were formed unique local clothing and footwear, the details of which can be seen in the Tajik national dress and popular clothing of the peoples of the world.
At the same time, handicrafts, in contrast to industrial products, can be a true expression of the ancient culture and civilization of the Tajiks, as each artist produces it with colorful imagination, with a deep understanding of the unique national decorative and applied art, with extraordinary patterns and handicrafts.
