Description
The article defines the place of the dumbra sound in the tradition of performing Falak. The structure, wide scope of its use, and interpretation of the term of this instrument are specified.
The aspect we have chosen is related to traditional music, in particular to the Tajik motif. In this aspect, we are mainly talking about the connection of the musical instrument with the melodic system of various motifs. In this case, the structural-systemic instrument occupies the main position. Despite the fact that the tambour performs the function of a structural-systemic instrument in Shashmaqom, it is clear that the sound field of each structure related to Shashmaqom is also related to the level of this system. It is known that the tonal system of Shashmaqom includes large steps (8-10 steps). It is quite possible that the long neck of the traditional dutor was historically necessary for the performance of musical pieces of "Shashmaqom" with large scales. It will be appropriate if we compare a little the traditional dumbra and dutor, since they are structural-systemic instruments: one belongs to Shashmaqom, the other to Falak.
