Description
The article tells about the traditional needlework "sherozabofї"—"embroidery" ribbons for braid clothes, which sheathed the edges of skullcaps, gates, sleeves, and floors of the national clothes of Shugnans and Rushans. Also, needlework "sherozabofї" is well known and practiced in other regions of Tajikistan as well. All methods and stages for the manufacture of mash, as well as tools for its manufacture, are examined in detail. Ethnographic aspects are presented in parallel, that is, associated with this attribute in clothing.
In Badakhshan, three types of embroidery ribbons are usually made from ancient times to the present day: "tāqi-sheroza"—used" for sewing tāqi, as well as ribbons for collars, sleeves, skirts, and belts of women's and men's shirts—and "pocha-sheroza," which is used in women's stockings it is woven. Silk weaving is a home occupation, and women do it using white, black, and colored thread. The way of preparing shirazes depends on the length and width, the way of sewing, as well as the use of different types of patterns, which are completely different from each other.
