Description
This article is focused on the ethno-linguistic analysis of negative prayers in the Shughni-Rushani group of Pamirian languages in the Badakhshan region of Tajikistan. These negative prayers do not exist and are not practiced in other regions of Tajikistan. The author analyzes the contents of negative prayers and emotionally expressive relations of the addressee and recipient. She approaches these prayers by thematic groups, accompanied by semantic definitions. The analysis shows that the negative prayers of the Shughni-Rushani group of the Pamir languages often reflect the features of social life and everyday life, as well as signs of beliefs and rituals of speakers of the Pamir languages and culture. Although most negative prayers are considered to be from pre-Islamic periods, negative prayers also contain many words related to Islam and religious rituals. Negative prayers have not been fully investigated in Pomeranian languages, and this is the first step in the study of this type of ethno-linguistic material, which will lay the foundation for further research.
