The monograph examines the problems of the formation and development of rituals and ritual music of the peoples of Central Asia, their specificity, genesis, semantics, and genre composition. Based on a comprehensive analysis of the musical structure of songwriting and instrumental ritual music, taking into account their real performing styles and ritual functions, regional and local types of ritual traditions are identified. The book is intended for musicologists, composers, historians, culturologists, leaders of folk ensembles, teachers, and students, as well as for a wide range of readers interested in issues of traditional music of the peoples of Central Asia.
