The construction of 58 traditional PNG instruments is described and illustrated, offering insights into the materials and techniques used. Playing methods are also explained to encourage students to attempt to make such instruments, ask elders about such matters, and experiment with different sound-producing techniques. No other volume offers such in-depth consideration of the construction of important sound-producing instruments.
