Description
Examines indigenous PNG notions of identity and belonging as embodied in popular music production. The author suggests that popular music production provides a space in which notions of identity and belonging are mediated, negotiated, and reconfigured. The production of local popular music is examined in Port Moresby, the PNG capital. Central to this study are home-based recording studios.
